ServiceLink, one of the top providers in the mortgage services industry, has an exciting Internship opportunity within its IT organization as a UI Development Intern!  This experience will allow the intern to develop the skills necessary for job placement and advancement in the mortgage and financial services industries. The intern will work on various product features of projects that will create a new digital experience for borrowers, with emphasis on mobile applications/experience. The intern will assist with designing, coding, testing, and developing mobile applications. **It is anticipated that the internship programs this year will be primarily Remote/Work from Home.  However, we hope to be able to have some opportunities for in-office and in-person activities as well.  As such, candidates within commuting distance of ServiceLink's offices in Moon Township. PA may be given preference.

WHO YOU ARE

 

 

You possess …

  • Junior or senior undergraduate, or agraduate student in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Familiar withmodern front-end frameworks like Angular or React
  • Understanddesign systems, component-based development, and UI best practices
  • Enjoycollaborating with others, are open to feedback, and love learning and sharing new ideas
  • Curious about the housing and mortgage industry and how technology can improve the experience

Responsibilities

  • Build, test, and maintain reusable UI components based on design specifications
  • Document components in our design system library for easy reference and reusability
  • Experiment with AI-powered code generation tools to speed up development and share insights with the team
  • Develop user interfaces that align with business goals, technical standards, and accessibility best practices
  • Ensure thetechnical feasibility of UI designs and provide feedback to product designers
  • Collaborate with engineers to support thesuccessful adoption of reusable UI components
  • Participate inteam meetings, design reviews, and code discussions
  • Stay up to date with front-end development trends and share insights with the team
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Junior or senior undergraduate, or a graduate student in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS, and fully responsive design principles
  • Basic understanding of JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Familiar with modern front-end frameworks such as Angular or React
  • Understand the fundamentals of design systems, component-based development, and UI best practices
  • Exposure to writing accessible code that aligns with WCAG 2.1 AA standards
  • Basic understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and how to resolve them
  • Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processors such as SCSS, SASS, or LESS
  • Familiar with code versioning tools like Git
  • Exposure to build tools like Node/NPM, Gulp, Webpack, or Angular CLI
  • Familiar with modern product design tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Miro
  • Familiar with Microsoft Azure DevOps or similar platforms
  • Good attention to detail, with an eye for clean, user-friendly design
  • Enjoy collaborating with others, open to feedback, and eager to learn and share new ideas
  • Curious about the housing and mortgage industry and how technology can improve the experience
