Overview

Disbursement Specialist works directly with team leader and is responsible for ensuring that the company meets or exceeds expectations while maintain client satisfaction, internally and externally.  The Specialist is responsible for participating in daily operations including, but not limited to file prep, checking for wires, receipting and assigning funds, depositing checks, printing checks, post-closing issues and other duties required to ensure work is completed by the end of the day.

 

Please note:  The incumbent of this position is required to work onsite in the NationalLink Offices.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for all areas related to disbursements
  • Knowledge of Client Online banking systems
  • Knowledge of how to complete bulk transfer report daily and transfer funds accordingly
  • Periodically check banking systems for incoming wires and assign monies in closing system
  • Initiate outgoing wires
  • Prepare check deposit in closing system and banking system
  • Monitor the OK to Disburse Queue
  • Check files for money
  • Effectively communicating with Closing Teams and Disbursements Manager when files are out of balance or something is needed to disburse
  • Research returned checks
  • Follow on all check requests (stop pays/reissues/short payoffs) as well as processing disbursements requests in appropriate closing systems
  • Work closely with closing and post closing teams when issues arise
  • Meet production goals and quality requirements as set by management
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Maintain open communication with Manager, Team Lead and all team members
  • Address inquiries from clients, borrowers, agents, and internal staff professionally and in a timely manner  
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent;
  • 1-2 years prior disbursements department experience a plus
  • Type 40 wpm with 95% accuracy.
  • Knowledge of real estate closing process is a plus
  • Proven communication and customer service skills
  • Familiarity with personal computer operation, including use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Must possess good organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to maintain a professional relationship with the Client and internal staff at all times
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure client satisfaction
  • Excellent oral communication and written skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
