Cost Estimator Technician

DETAILED JOB DUTIES

• Review loan history as well as bids and photos provided by contractors.
• Ensure photos support all work performed and all bids provided.
• Ensure bids address all existing conditions of the property.
• Review cost estimates provided by contractors.
• Create construction and repair cost estimates.
• Prepare construction estimates as requested by clients for repair bids.
• Communicate with suppliers to resolve issues, obtain missing photos and bids, and provide additional information.
• Update and bill work orders.
• Re-issue work orders as needed.
• Report escalations, such as active roof leaks, work orders over $5000, and zero bills, to Assistant Supervisor.
• Answer incoming phone calls from contractors to answer their questions.
• Assist other departments with cost estimates and file reviews as requested.
• Maintain production goals on a daily basis.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous construction experience required.
• Knowledge of construction estimating required.
• Previous general office and computer experience required, specifically Microsoft systems.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Basic knowledge of mortgage terms preferred.
• Knowledge of property management, construction, and property insurance preferred.
• Mortgage servicing and default servicing knowledge/experience preferred.
• Familiarity with construction estimating software ideal.
• Necessary special training includes client securing guidelines and business rules, user review guide, classroom training, system training, and side by side training.

This is a remote position.  Hours of work:  8 am to 5 pm
